General Katomba Wamara, Minister of Engineering and Transport, presided over the groundbreaking ceremony of Foton's assembly facilities at the Foton Motor Exhibition Hall in Namanwe. As a subsidiary of Sunbelt Motors, Foton Motor has a strong reputation in the global automotive manufacturing industry. The company has opened an assembly plant in Uganda, and the first batch will produce 50 Foton cars. The minister expressed appreciation for the company's choice of Uganda as an investment destination in his speech. He pointed out, "This reflects the increasing confidence of investors in Uganda, as the country has many advantages."
