According to ENA on August 12th, Ethiopian Airlines Group has officially appointed the African Development Bank as the authorized lead arranger to raise $8 billion in debt financing for the construction of the newly built Bisutu International Airport. The total cost of this grand project is 10 billion US dollars, and it is expected to become the largest airport in Africa and a new global hub for Ethiopian Airlines. Today, Lema Yadecha, Chief Commercial Officer of Ethiopian Airlines, and Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina, President of the African Development Bank, officially signed this power of attorney. Ahmed Shide, the Minister of Finance of Ethiopia, Lieutenant General Yilma Merdassa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ethiopian Airlines Group and Commander of the Ethiopian Air Force, and other dignitaries attended the ceremony. Finance Minister Ahmed Shide praised the project as a key gateway to progress and prosperity.
