According to Star on July 6th, Kenyan electric vehicle company Roam has partnered with solar cooling system and logistics innovation company Keep It Cool to launch a food delivery network that operates entirely on renewable energy. This measure can be regarded as a milestone in Africa's response to climate change and ensuring food security. Roam's electric motorcycle was developed with strong support from Chinese electric transportation partners and assembled in Kenya. The lithium batteries and other key electronic subsystems used are supplied by China. The plan announced this time will deploy Roam electric motorcycles to support last mile delivery, aimed at addressing post harvest food loss, which is also one of the most pressing challenges in East Africa. These electric two wheelers will provide support for some of Keep It Cool's work, as the company delivers over 250000 kilograms of fresh produce daily to over 4000 small businesses and 40 supermarkets in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, as well as other major cities in the country.
