According to Monitor on June 26th, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project reaffirmed its firm commitment to cultivating local talent through a high-level delegation visiting the Uganda Petroleum Institute (UPIK) in Kigumba. This visit highlights EACOP's important investment in national talent development, which is the core pillar of the project strategy. The students who participated in the project - the first batch of EACOP trainees who will soon operate and manage the pipeline - joined the delegation in participating in the activity. In his speech, Guillaume Pierart, Managing Director of EACOP, emphasized the transformative investment of this project in local talent: "We invested $15 million over 30 months, which is one of the largest capacity building projects in the region. But even more shocking than these numbers is the investment return we are witnessing here today - not cold numbers, but living people, the talents and potential demonstrated by these passionate students." The success of this program stems from a rigorous competitive selection mechanism. Laurent Stephane, the manager of Tilenga&EACOP Academy, pointed out that the public has shown a high level of attention to the project.
