According to Monitor on April 28th, Sinopec, the Chinese company responsible for building Uganda's Central Processing Facility (CPF), launched a training program on Wednesday aimed at training over 800 Ugandans to enhance the country's local skilled workforce in the oil sector. Sinopec stated that the training will be conducted in stages at Sunmaker Oil and Gas Training Academy until October, covering multiple areas such as manufacturing, pipe fittings, and scaffolding. The Uganda Petroleum Authority, as the national agency responsible for managing and supervising the oil industry, has stated that there is still an urgent demand for skilled local workers in the industry, as pointed out by its National Content Manager Betty Jackie Namubiru.
