The Immigration and Citizenship Services (ICS) has launched a ten-year residency permit called the "Golden Visa" aimed at attracting foreign investors who have made significant contributions to the country's economy. He pointed out that the service department has been undergoing strict institutional reforms to ensure its operation meets international standards and modern technological needs. The Golden Visa aims to provide long-term stability for high impact investors, enabling them to reside and operate in Ethiopia while reducing bureaucratic barriers. The Deputy Director General pointed out that many countries offer similar long-term residency programs ranging from five to ten years, and added that Ethiopia has launched its own model to maintain competitiveness in attracting high-quality investors. According to Gosa, the visa is a standardized electronic permit with a validity period of 10 years, allowing the holder to stay in the country more freely.
