The Tanzanian government is intensifying efforts to modernize transportation infrastructure and maritime rescue services, aiming to enhance the safety of people's lives and property while providing strong support for national sustainable development. Professor Makame Mbarawa, the Minister of Transport, stated that these measures are being gradually implemented through government agencies responsible for maritime supervision and management. The statement was made by the minister in Dar es Salaam, where the Tanzanian Shipping Agents Company (TASAC) was hosting a special Iftar dinner, bringing together various stakeholders in the maritime industry. The minister called for close collaboration between maritime industry stakeholders and TASAC, urging strict compliance with laws, regulations, and operational procedures related to maritime activities to ensure the industry's sustainable development and contribute to national progress. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of cooperation between the government and private sector stakeholders, highlighting it as a key factor in improving maritime services, enhancing port efficiency, and stimulating economic growth.
