Standard gauge railway (SGR), modernized roads, and upgraded ports collectively propel Tanzania into a pivotal hub for commerce, tourism, and regional integration. Modernized ships and aircraft further expand these connectivity networks. The country is not only advancing steadily but actively building bridges to opportunity. Government Chief Spokesperson Jason Msiva told journalists at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) that the transportation sector's contribution to the national economy continues to rise, increasing from 7.1% in 2021 to 7.5% in 2024, now serving as a key engine for economic growth. In aviation, large-scale investments are reshaping the industry landscape: airports have enhanced operational efficiency, safety standards, and service quality through upgrades. Currently, 13 state-of-the-art passenger and cargo security screening systems have been deployed at Julius Nyerere International Airport, Kigoma, Huye, Tanga, Lake Manyara, and Iringa, supporting 24-hour uninterrupted operations and delivering more efficient, expedited services.
