Tanzania's national brand building is helping to enhance the competitiveness of its products in domestic, regional, and global markets, while promoting industrial growth and economic diversification. The "Made in Tanzania" program launched by the Tanzania Trade Development Authority aims to integrate various Tanzanian products into a unified national brand system, with the goal of enhancing market trust, attracting international buyers, and promoting import and export growth. Dr. Latifa Hamis, Director of TanTrade, stated that the first phase of the program will register 300 products, with a focus on products rather than businesses, in order to track the impact of national brands on product pricing, buyer confidence, and market coverage. Dr. Hamis introduced that product registration was launched in August through the ITIMS platform of the Tanzania Trade Development Authority. As of now, 54 products and 12 companies have completed registration, reflecting the growing interest of the private sector in leveraging national brands to enhance product value and achieve differentiated competition.
