After successfully receiving two shipping vessels, BBC Washington and Zijingsong, Tanga Port further consolidated its position as the preferred gateway for traders and logistics stakeholders. Both ships are carrying heavy modern equipment for multiple ongoing projects in the country, with one transporting power control equipment for the Uganda East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project and the other transporting modern power generation equipment for Tanzania Electricity Supply Company (TANESCO). Steve Miller, the implementation manager of East African Logistics Services Company, is responsible for supervising equipment transportation. He introduced that the 95 mechanical equipment transported by the BBC Washington cargo ship from Singapore are expected to be unloaded at Jogoleni in Tanganyika for power control along the East African crude oil pipeline to Uganda.
