Tanzania and Uganda plan to export crude oil to the international market from July. The leaders of the two countries stated that this move will promote a series of extensive cooperation plans covering major infrastructure, energy, and transportation projects, aiming to deepen economic collaboration between the two sides. Speaking at the presidential palace in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu Hassan pointed out that the first batch of crude oil will be shipped from the Homa region in western Uganda to Tanzania's Tanga Port via the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP). The shipment is expected to commence in July, marking the official commencement of one of the most ambitious cross-border investment projects in East Africa.
