According to the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR), the Producer Price Index (PPI) in Rwanda increased by 4.6% year-on-year in December 2025. This index is used to measure the average change in prices of goods and services sold by domestic producers. Compared to last month, the increase this time is relatively small, mainly driven by rising costs in the mining and energy industries. According to the latest Producer Price Index (PPI) report released by the Nigerian Institute of Statistics (NISR) on Saturday, January 31st, the annual increase in the overall index is mainly driven by a 20.4% rise in mining and quarrying industry prices. The contribution of the public utilities sector to this growth is also significant, with electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply prices rising by 34.8% year-on-year. The manufacturing industry with the highest weight in the index only achieved a moderate increase of 2.3% year-on-year.
