Ethiopia announced that it will vigorously promote the production of domestic energy solutions, marking an important step towards local production and technology localization in the country's energy sector. The Ministry of Innovation and Technology has revealed that Ethiopia has entered a new stage of cooperation with China Southern Power Grid Technology Corporation and Edan Electric Power Group, aimed at reducing dependence on imported energy technologies. This initiative marks a paradigm shift towards "Made in Ethiopia" energy solutions and localized transformation of advanced power technologies. At the launch ceremony, Minister of State for Innovation and Technology Bessa Beidada emphasized the central role of electricity in national development, stating that reliable power supply is the foundation of technological progress and an indispensable element in Ethiopia's digital transformation agenda. He emphasized that reliable energy infrastructure is not optional, but a necessary condition for achieving the country's long-term digital and economic goals.
