According to Monitor on October 13th, there is a festive atmosphere in the air at the Africa Coffee Park in the Ruwa Shamiren Tonggamo district. Uganda's Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Ruth Namkabilva, swayed to the music, and the launch event of Uganda's first batch of "Inspire Africa" finished coffee also reached a climax. Just a moment ago, Chief Justice Alphonse Owiny Dolo watched as a small truck carrying four flagship products - drip coffee, coffee capsules, ground coffee, and roasted coffee - departed, which will be sold to local and international markets. For Nelson Tugume, founder and CEO of Inspire Africa, this is the pinnacle of his decade long ambition to transform Uganda from a green bean exporting country to a global player in the value-added coffee market. Uganda has long been a major coffee producing country. The country produces over 4 million bags of 60 kilogram packs of coffee annually, making it the largest producer of Robusta coffee in Africa and one of the top ten coffee exporting countries in the world. However, most of the coffee beans exported by the country are unprocessed.
