According to a September 25 report by Monitor, TotalEnergies Uganda subsidiary released its 2025 Social Responsibility Report, highlighting job creation, community initiatives, and environmental safeguards under the Tullow Oil development project. Amid ongoing scrutiny of the industry's social and ecological impacts, Uganda's Energy Minister Okasai Seidionius Opolot chaired the report's launch ceremony in Kampala. He stated that the document would be thoroughly reviewed and that lawmakers would visit project sites to verify progress. The report notes that the Tullow project has employed 10,570 Ugandans to date, with 35% from project areas like Buseri, Nwonya, and Homa. Female employees account for 16% of the workforce. Thirteen Ugandan staff members now work at TotalEnergies' subsidiaries across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the U.S. The report reveals that project procurement from local suppliers totaled $31.3 million, while agricultural programs supported over 10,000 farmers.
