Tanzania has announced a strategic plan to further promote the Kwara Industrial Park (KIP) as the country's new commercial and investment hub. This news was released during a joint inspection of the park by five ministries led by Professor Kittila Mkumbo, Secretary of State for Planning and Investment in the Office of the President. The Kwara Industrial Park is located in the Kibaha District on the eastern coast of Tanzania. This inspection aims to delve into the challenges faced by investors and seek effective solutions to enhance manufacturing investment and productivity. This visit is organized and coordinated by Gilead Terry, Director of the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA). The departments participating in this visit include: the Planning and Investment Department led by Professor Kittila Mukumbo, the Industry and Trade Department represented by Minister Judith Kapinga, the Water Department represented by Minister Juma Avesso, the Energy Department represented by Deputy Minister Salome Makamba, and the Joint Environment Department represented by Professor Peter Musofei, Deputy Secretary General of the Vice President's Office (Environment).
