The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has highlighted a wide range of investment opportunities in the large-scale commercial agriculture sector. The investment areas include various crops such as sugarcane, rice, wheat, coffee, tea, sunflowers, beans, flower cultivation, cotton, sisal, grapes, sesame, and corn. The management bureau emphasized these investment opportunities in an investment report published on its official website. The Tanzania Industry, Trade and Enterprise Development Authority (TISEZA) points out that agriculture remains a key sector supporting Tanzania's industrial growth, providing raw materials for industry and expanding markets for manufactured goods. The country has 44 million hectares of agricultural land, of which approximately 29.4 million hectares are suitable for irrigation. According to the report, Tanzania produces approximately 300000 tons of raw sugar annually (based on data from 2014/2015), while the market demand gap is about 220000 tons, which is currently mainly filled by imports. It is expected that this sugar supply gap will continue to grow at an average annual rate of 6%.
