According to Star on November 4th, the Milima Mountains along the coast of Kenya are gradually evolving into a core area of global power struggle. This forest, valued at up to 62 billion US dollars (approximately 8 trillion Kenyan shillings) and rich in minerals, has shown strong interest, and local residents consider it a sacred place. In 2013, an assessment report released by Kotke Mining Kenya, a subsidiary of Pacific Wildcat Resources in the UK and Canada, revealed that this dense forest contains rare metal deposits underground, which are crucial for the production of smartphones, electric vehicles, and renewable energy systems. This year, a latest assessment report from Kotke Mining Kenya stated that officials from two global superpowers have visited this mountain located in Kwale County, which is believed to contain key minerals needed for the production of smartphones, electric vehicles, and renewable energy systems. In June, Mark Dillard, the then interim US ambassador to Kenya, visited the mountain. Political and international trade analysts believe that this visit has "significant implications" in the global competition for Africa among major powers.
