The Hose Reel Irrigator (also known as a traveling gun sprinkler or hose-drum irrigator) is a mobile, high-volume sprinkler system designed for medium-to-large agricultural fields, sports turf, golf courses, and pastureland. It consists of a heavy-duty chassis carrying a large-diameter hose drum, a water-turbine or hydraulic drive mechanism, and a high-pressure impact sprinkler gun mounted on a traveling cart.
During operation, the tractor positions the reel unit at the field edge. The sprinkler cart is pulled to the far end of the irrigation strip. Pressurized water flows through the PE hose, simultaneously driving the turbine to slowly rewind the hose onto the drum, pulling the sprinkler cart backward while spraying a uniform arc of water across the full strip width.
